Mr. Payne contributes to the advancement of the Engineering Profession in several ways beyond his role as ESCA's President and Chief Engineer. He has made numerous presentations at Professional Conferences and similar forums on subjects ranging from specific design problems to advice regarding the business of Consulting. He has taught short courses on design methods and has provided expert testimony related to litigation and engineering failures.

He has also guest lectured Senior and Graduate college courses.
